Metalogalva buys two companies in the UK and Poland
The acquisitions of Fabrikat and Contec Kromiss “ensure an immediate strengthening” of Metalogalva’s position in the UK and Poland, says the chairman of the Portuguese company.
Portugal’s Metalogalva has bought two companies in the UK and Poland to accelerate its international growth, the group announced on Thursday, without disclosing the value of the investment.
Metalogalva’s portfolio now includes Fabrikat, a company that operates in the British street lighting market, with a turnover of 25 million euros last year, and Poland’s Contec Kromiss, which specializes in structures for the electricity transmission network, with a turnover of 17 million euros per year.
GROWING 20%
With 1,700 employees and a consolidated turnover of 441 million euros in 2023, Metalogalva is headquartered in Trofa and has a presence in 12 countries on four continents, including production centers in Germany, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, France, Ukraine, Angola, Poland, Portugal and the United States of America.
In 2023, the company bought Electrofer, a metalworking company in Marinha Grande that employs more than 250 people, and inaugurated its first production unit in the USA.
Founded in 1971, Metalogalva, which operates in the field of steel engineering and protection, is one of Europe’s leading producers of street lighting columns and other structures linked to the transportation of electricity.
